Bought this as a present for a friend, so wont have the opportunity to use it. First impressions are very good - build quality is excellent, and the sockets themselves seem sturdy.

I would not advise this reel for heavy duty use, for example a builder, craftsman or any other job which would involve constant, regular use, as I don't think a product like this would be ideal - a metal cased/shielded device may be more appropriate. There is a handle built into the back of the product for easy reeling and unreeling, and the handle on the front will also spin, to help reel in the cable quickly and easily.

Unravels quickly and smoothly, does exactly what it's supposed to do - give you power up to 10m from the mains point. If you're using high-draw appliances heat guns, large halogen lights etc. Ensure you unravel all of the cable - otherwise the remaining cable may overheat and the safety circuit will trip. A mistake I made many years ago and will always remember to unravel all the cable if needed.
